It Book Kid Sewer Scene
The novel can be divided into two parts.
It book kid sewer scene. Georgie s death in the cult movie and book by stephen king don t you want a baloon. In the film rather than have the group getting lost in the sewer system they instantly appear safe outside director andy muschietti deciding to leave out the scene entirely. They accomplish this by having sex with each other.
Stephen king s it in my estimation does not do a very good job of justifying a chapter long scene in which bev the sole girl in the losers club the group of 11 year old kids the book is. O o xd when you re down here with me george you float too. While it s an important scene it doesn t define the book in any way i don.
This scene does a couple things in the book. It follows the story of a group of kids self named losers club who come across an evil shape shifting entity living in the sewers of their hometown derry. He tracks the losers down to the barrens sewer drain on henry s behalf.
Toward the end of king s book which typically runs over 1 000 pages in print editions and switches between timelines our heroes the losers club get lost in the derry sewer system. Beverly realizes that it is using its evil psychic powers to drive the kids. And we have the scene where a group of kids hopelessly lost in a sewer figure their way out of the sewer and create a connection that allows them unlike all the other adults in derry to remember pennywise as adults.
He really is despite being a mainstream media darling. The first one set in 1957 1958 following the losers as kids and the second one set in 1984 1985 following the group as adults. Stephen king is brilliant.
Besides georgie in the sewer i think it s the one scene that everybody kind of brings up and it s such a shame. But there s more to that scene in the book.
